So, What is the Alpha Course?

Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation. Alpha is run all around the world and everyone’s welcome. It runs online, in cafés, churches, universities, homes—you name it. No two Alpha’s look the same, but generally they have three key things in common: hospitality, a talk and good discussion

WHAT HAPPENS AT ALPHA?

Arrive & Connect

Connecting with others is at the heart of who we are. Each session begins with a relaxed time to meet people, build friendships, and ease into meaningful conversations. We gather over coffee or tea with a few treats, creating a welcoming space to chat and connect. This sets a warm, positive tone for the evening.

Each session starts with a short Alpha video exploring big questions about life and faith—like Who is Jesus? and Why do we pray? In just 25–30 minutes, it’s designed to spark real, honest conversations in a relaxed space.

Conversation

One of the most important parts of Alpha is the chance to share your thoughts and discuss each topic in a small group. There’s no pressure to speak, and nothing is off limits—seriously. It’s a space to ask questions, hear from others, and explore different perspectives in an honest, friendly, and open environment.

It’s a space where you can share your thoughts and questions, or simply listen to others and hear their perspectives. There’s no pressure to speak or reach any conclusions—just a safe, welcoming environment where every voice matters
